Android Safe mode Boot

The safe mode feature is not new to us. In fact, it is the one of the ways you can troubleshoot your PC from bugs and annoying softwares. Well, the same feature is also available in your Samsung Galaxy S4 Android phone. Android phones have a secret Safe mode, lets see how to run Safe mode on Galaxy S4 or come out of Android Safe mode on Galaxy S4.

Here are some simple steps that can help you boot your S4 in the safe mode:

1. Switch off your phone completely.

2. Power it on again.
3. Now continuously keep pressing the left key.
4. Keep pressing the key until the boot is complete and the home screen appears.

That’s it! You phone is now successfully booted in safe mode. You will see a Safe Mode label on the left bottom on screen at all times. This reminds you that the phone is running in safe mode.

Please remember that only factory installed apps appear in safe mode. The apps you installed after purchase don’t appear in this mode. It’s simple now; the app which is malfunctioning or has a bug can be deleted easily. Simply goto application manager, identify the app and delete it completely.

To return to normal mode, just switch of the phone and let it restart by itself. Do not press key during the restart and wait till the home screen is back.

Root Samsung Galaxy S4 with Motochopper

A recent root exploit I published for Motorola devices, Motochopper, should do the trick for rooting the Qualcomm-based variants of the Samsung Galaxy S4, including the AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile branded models.

Download the exploit here: http://goo.gl/8h8Na

Instructions:
  1. Extract the entire contents of the zip file.
  2. If you are using Windows, ensure you have installed the latest Samsung USB drivers available for your phone.
  3. Ensure USB Debugging mode is enabled on your device.
  4. Connect your device to your PC via USB.
  5. If you are using Windows, navigate to the extracted directory and execute "run.bat". If you are using Linux or OS X, navigate to the extracted directory in a terminal and execute "./run.sh".
  6. Approve the ADB connection from your PC on your device.

Warning:
At this point, since there are no custom recoveries or stock images available, it may not be possible to repair your device should you accidentally break it. Please be aware of this before performing any modifications to your phone.

As always, future OTA updates may remove the ability to regain root access, so proceed with caution when updating. Enjoy!

I did this with my AUTHORISED Sim in first.

1. Dial *#0011#
2. press Menu then tap BACK
3. press the Menu again the tap KEY INPUT then enter 1, (wait a few seconds) it auto jumped into service menu.

4. press Menu then tap BACK (not needed for me)

Your are now in the SERVICE MODE MAIN MENU

Tap [1]UMTS (may auto go into next menu (mine did)

then [1]DEBUG SCREEN
then [6]PHONE CONTROL
then [6]NETWORK LOCK
then tap [3]PERSO SHA256 OFF

Go back to the UMTS MAIN MENU by pressing Menu then Back (several times)

then tap [6]COMMON

then [6]NV REBUILD (if this does not work next time)

do [4]RESTORE BACK UP

the device will freeze, black screen, Blue LED Light, Menu and Back key ON. Wait for it to reboot (about a minute).

Your Samsung Galaxy I9505 is now Sim-Unlocked.

Edit:

When I booted back in with AUTHORISED sim, I had to turn off Mobile Data, then turn it on.
I then turned off the phone, put my UNAUTHORSIED Sim in, booted back up and NO NETWORK PIN request!

Again, I had to turn off Mobile data, then turn it back on. The UNAUTHORSIED Sim worked!!!
